Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Head of Electronic and Electrical Engineering to lead their teams over multiple locations. This permanent position is integral to the strategic direction and operational success of their Electronic and Electrical engineering functions within the defence industry. Key Responsibilities: As the Head of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, you will: Inspire, lead, and develop the engineering team, focusing on career development, performance management, and fostering a high-performance culture. Manage team capacity, leading recruitment efforts and ensuring projects are staffed with suitably qualified personnel. Drive technical excellence and governance, improving business processes and championing best practices in engineering solutions. Coordinate with other heads and directors to ensure cross-disciplinary alignment and successful project delivery. Play a strategic role in bids and proposals, shaping technical programmes and providing expertise in estimating. Champion the development of underrepresented skills within the team and stay abreast of industry trends. Support the business in achieving export permissions and navigating emerging cybersecurity standards. Ensure all engineering outputs consider supportability, manufacturability, and lifecycle costs. Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will: Have significant experience in Defence Electronic and Electrical engineering. Demonstrate transformational leadership with the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams. Possess technical authority with hands-on experience in relevant tools and technologies. Be a strategic visionary capable of aligning engineering capabilities with business growth objectives. Exhibit strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Encourage continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Focus on governance, process improvement, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Be resilient and adaptive, comfortable managing multiple priorities under pressure. Typically hold a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a related field with significant experience within a complex engineering environment.
