Are you an experienced Senior Commercial Manager looking for a new challenge? Due to significant growth and new contract wins, OCU has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager within the electrical and power sector to come and join us based in Glasgow.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensuring professional and proactive end to end Commercial Management and Contract Administration is effectively supported on Contracts and Projects
* Support pre-construction activities for projects that are being tendered or in ECI/feasibility stages including review, identification and negotiation of contract terms in accordance with Group Reserved Matter
* Taking a proactive approach to providing commercial support and resolving issues and disputes
* Ensuring entitlement to recovery of revenue, variations and costs are fully demonstrated and recovered in accordance with the Contract
* Improving accuracy and robustness of Budgets & Forecasts, including review and challenge of Project forecasts including costs to complete
* Supporting implementation and embedding of Commercial processes
* Managing Subcontractors and Supply Chain to deliver the project objectives and minimise disputes, claims and domestic variations
* Ensuring timely issue and receipt of Valuations, Applications, Payment Notices along with critical focus on WIP, Debt and Cashflow
* Providing general advice, challenge and support on contractual matters, including; tender settlements, subcontract negotiations, preparing and reviewing CVRs, settling final accounts, claims, variations, monthly P&L reviews, and budgeting & forecasting
* Ensure compliant and timely submission of notices, variations and other contract administration requirements
You will be experienced with Sub-contract tendering, procurement, negotiation and sub-contract administration. Ensuring appropriate subcontract documentation is produced and issued in line with company procedures and manage subcontract accounts in accordance with the subcontract through to final account.
Experience of dealing with operational and project management to have a continual understanding as to status of projects with respect to; applications, certifications, payment received, design, programme, procurement, quality of delivery and tender allowances across a portfolio of Projects.
Experience of managing a team of Senior Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors / Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
Skills and Experience
* Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
* Good commercial awareness
* Experience of Commercial Management on power and electrical projects
* Experience with FIDIC, NEC and other standard forms of Contract
* Relevant Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management qualification
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability present to mixed audiences.
