We’re looking for a Field Automation Specialist / Electrical & Mechanical Multiskilled Craftsperson to join our team covering Allanfearn & Inverness on a permanent basis. If you are focused on excellent customer service with a proven Engineering (E&M) skilled background, this role is a great opportunity to develop your skills further.
What you’ll do:
1. Be responsible for repairs, installations, and maintenance for Waste Water sites.
2. Undertake Risk Assessments to ensure safety and appropriate equipment selection.
3. Perform a range of electrical craft skills, including fault finding and diagnosis, maintenance to motors, motor starters, generators, lighting, variable speed drives, and instrumentation.
4. Conduct general mechanical craft skills, including maintenance or removal of pumps, engines, valves, and mechanical devices.
5. Configure and support telemetry systems, ensuring smooth operation and communication.
6. Update software and hardware with minimal disruption.
7. Maintain and calibrate field instrumentation.
8. Improve telemetry data collection and assist with field automation tasks.
9. Support day-to-day user requirements within telemetry/PLC/IMCC/SCADA systems.
What you’ll need:
1. A completed apprenticeship and an HNC or NC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2. 17th/18th Edition training.
3. Strong communication skills and confidence in customer interactions.
4. Good knowledge of MS Office, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
5. A valid UK driver's license.
