Job summary
A very exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Main Outpatient Team as a Healthcare Assistant.
You will work as part of a well established team where we facilitate in the delivery of approximately 300 appointments per day across 16 different specialities.
We are looking for a part time staff member to join our amazing team; working 20 hours with us (2 shifts a week between Mon - Fri).

Main duties of the job
* The role will involve ensuring the patients' experience of their appointment is everything you would want for yourself or your family member.
* Ensuring the patient is seen in a calm, clean environment where the equipment is ready for use, ensuring all documentation is complete and correct.
* The patients' journeys to surgery, end of lifecare or discharge can start with a 20 minute outpatient appointment so it is vital that in this time reassures the patient of the care they will receive.
* You will assist in clinic helping the patient during examination maintaining the patients dignity at all times.
* Completing obs on patients booking in, receiving the patient in a kind and cheerful manner.
* Assisting your colleagues in preparing the notes for the next day ensuring referrals are present where appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications/training and professional development
* General Education to GCSE level in Maths and English A-D (or equivalent)
* Care Certificate
Experience
* Experience of working with people/teams
* Previous health/social care support worker experience
Skills, abilities and knowledge
* Ability to verbally communicate clearly and effectively in the English language
* Clear and effective reading and writing in the English language
* Can follow instructions and learn procedures
* Understanding of confidentiality
* Understanding of the Healthcare assistant role
* First Aid training
* Information Governance training
