Job title – Control & Instrumentation Engineer
We have one permanent vacancy within the Improve Plant Department working on dayshift.

Your key responsibilities
* Maintain and upgrade the site Programmable Electronic Systems (PES), including:
o Backing up and modifying software as appropriate.
o Responding to and correcting both hardware and software problems associated with site PES and related systems.
o Maintaining electronic networks & systems’ physical and cybersecurity to prevent unauthorized access.
* Maintain and upgrade the site Instrument & Control provisions, including:
o Responding to and correcting hardware problems associated with site instrument and control systems and equipment.
o Ensuring instrument and control equipment in hazardous areas is suitably compliant with DSEAR/ATEX.
o Ensuring that all site instrument and control systems are managed in a technically sound, safe and environmentally acceptable manner ensuring the company is in full compliance with local legislation and regulations as well as DSM requirements.
o Reviewing the effectiveness and suitability of instrument and control maintenance plans, amending as required.
* Provide PES and C&I support to Improve Plant for the implementation of projects including:
o Supporting the ongoing development of and creation of new site standards and procedures.
o Supporting the selection and implementation of the most suitable technical solutions.
o Supporting the review and sign off of project technical reviews.
o Supporting the Management of Change (MOC) process.
o Developing Lifetime Extension (LTE) plans for future investment into site C&I resources.
* Driving continuous improvement of SHE, Quality, Reliability and Efficiency.
* Consulting with and supporting the Shift Manager or Technical Team in the event of incidents, deviations or disruptions in the process with resolving instrument and control maintenance problems and providing Technical Support to the crafts during dayshift and out of hours.

You bring
* Successful candidates will have a relevant honors degree in a suitable Engineering discipline.
* Software programming principles, IT, Cyber Security and networking skills are also required important skills for this role.
* Previous work experience or placement in a science-related manufacturing environment would be preferred.
* Candidates will be required to work towards chartered status within their technical discipline.
* Suitable applicants must be highly motivated, be able to follow technical instructions accurately, have effective communication skills, work well and safely in a team environment, demonstrate the ability to apply practical skills and be prepared to make a positive contribution to the success of the Dalry site.
