Your New Role We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent full-time Technology Trainee Technician to join our Area 10 contract in Altrincham. This role will be field based, working roadside, operated from Hale Maintenance Compound, Wilmslow Road, Altrincham, WA15 8XL. Working with National Highways, Amey provides Maintenance and Response services for more than 300 miles of strategic road network in the Northwest, including some of the region’s busiest motorways: the M6, M56 and M62. The role involves responsibility for Technology Maintenance on the Northwest motorway and trunk road network in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, and Lancashire, which includes carrying out maintenance and fault / failure rectification activities. You will be tasked to provide support and assistance to the technology team in all relevant projects to meet client and Amey objectives. The standard hours of work are 42 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm). After training is complete, working hours will change to 20:30pm - 07:00am Nightshifts, which alternates between Monday -Thursday or Tuesday – Friday. This includes a 45 minutes paid break. You will be responsible for: Assisting Engineer in faults, knockdowns etc.; carrying out corrective and cyclical maintenance including the reinstatement of sites, cable and equipment damaged by others Learning from the Highways Technology / Mentor Engineer(s) and completing all duties assigned Learning how to Identify, analysing, troubleshooting, and assisting with reactive and cyclical maintenance of technology equipment Managing your time efficiently to ensure effective delivery of ADAMr service levels to required outcomes Ensureing NH Confirm / ServiceNow data is captured and entered correctly, and all data is accurate Updating work logs, client accounts, and handling other administrative duties Completing all training and maintaining competences to demonstrate compliance with the NHSS8 scheme Collaborating with Highways workers, third parties, and other Amey crew members Communicating with clients (NH) in a professional, courteous manner at all times Developing experience working with technology systems and equipment Out of hours working to support service contract requirements Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training Any other duties reasonably requested within the skills required for the role.
