A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Solicitor to join a highly regarded team at a leading Top 100 London-based firm, recognised by the Legal 500. This role sits within a dynamic and growing Commercial department, which advises on a broad range of commercial matters, with a strong focus on the sports, media, and entertainment sectors.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile matters, including sports transactions, sponsorship agreements, image rights, and regulatory issues. The team also handles a wide range of commercial work such as outsourcing, cloud, technology, and distribution agreements. You will be involved in advisory and compliance projects, covering areas such as supply chain risks, GDPR, and crisis management. Key Responsibilities Advising clients on commercial agreements, including sponsorship, licensing, image rights, distribution, and outsourcing contracts. Acting for sports organisations, governing bodies, clubs, athletes, and investors on commercial and regulatory matters. Providing legal support on supply chain risk, modern slavery, conflict minerals, anti-bribery, GDPR, and compliance issues. Drafting and negotiating technology contracts, including SaaS, outsourcing, and cloud agreements. Advising on intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, licensing, and assignment agreements. Supporting corporate transactions with commercial, IP, data protection, and technology-related advice. Engaging in business development and marketing initiatives to grow the firm’s sports and commercial practice. Supervising junior members of the team, including paralegals and trainees, where required. Key Candidate Requirements 2-6 years’ PQE in commercial law, ideally with experience in the sports, media, or entertainment sectors. Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. Strong understanding of commercial regulations, including GDPR, supply chain risk, and compliance frameworks within the sports industry. Knowledge of intellectual property and data protection matters. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships at all levels. A proactive and client-focused approach, with an interest in business development and networking. Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 degree) with high attention to detail and case management skills.
