About the Role A high-achieving secondary school in Lambeth seeks a qualified and enthusiastic Computer Science Technician to join its dynamic department. This is a permanent, full-time position offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a successful Computer Science curriculum. Responsibilities Technical Support: Maintain and troubleshoot a range of computer hardware and software in the school's IT network and computer labs. Ensure efficient and effective operation of all IT equipment used for Computer Science lessons. Install and configure new hardware and software as required. Provide technical support to teachers in the use of technology for teaching and learning. Learning Environment: Prepare and set up computer labs for lessons according to teachers' instructions. Ensure a safe and secure learning environment in the computer labs. Assist teachers in the integration of technology into their lessons. Resources and Inventory: Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT equipment used in the Computer Science department. Order and manage IT supplies as needed. Assist with the development and maintenance of the Computer Science department's resources. Other Duties: May be required to assist with other IT-related tasks within the school. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with technological advancements. The Ideal Candidate Possesses a relevant qualification in IT or a related field (desirable). Has a strong understanding of computer hardware and software. Demonstrates excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Possesses strong organizational and communication skills.
