Job Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
2. Promote and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people as part of our safeguarding policy.
3. Ensure all staff understand their roles and responsibilities regarding safeguarding and provide appropriate learning opportunities.
4. Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can flourish.
5. Build positive relationships with young people and staff, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
6. Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
7. Work collaboratively with external partners to ensure young people have access to education, training, and career development opportunities.
8. Uphold the home's ethos of prioritising the well-being and development of each child in our care.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. A passion for prioritising the welfare and development of young people.
2. Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and best practices.
3. Proven ability to manage a team effectively, fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and continuous improvement.
4. Experience working within the Ofsted inspection framework.
5. Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
6. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or willingness to work towards it.
7. At least 2 years of relevant experience in residential care for children within the last 5 years.
8. At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory and management role within a care setting.
9. Ability to develop close working relationships with therapists and contribute to a comprehensive therapeutic service.
