CEN Resources are working in partnership with a very successful and growing multi-disciplinary engineering business based in Glasgow. Our client offers both consultancy and project delivery services within disciplines such as Process, Process Safety, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation on a variety of onshore engineering projects. Due to growth and project awards, our client is now looking to recruit a Process Engineering Manager.
The Process Engineering Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of process engineering design and management. This role requires a technically adept and highly motivated individual to manage and grow the process engineering team, deliver high-quality engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with project budgets and timelines. This role is instrumental in shaping the technical capabilities and performance of our client's process engineering team. This will be a Hybrid role where the successful applicant can split their working week between the office and working from home.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage process engineering services across studies, FEED, and EPC project phases.
* Provide technical leadership and ensure all designs meet client requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
* Supervise and review calculations, process designs, and deliverables, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
* Develop and approve Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process datasheets, and control philosophies.
* Conduct process design basis development, mass and energy balances, and material selection analyses.
* Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
* Support HAZOP, SIL reviews, and risk assessments to ensure process safety.
* Manage team performance, mentor junior engineers, and promote professional development.
* Engage with clients to understand requirements, present solutions, and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, technologies, and practices.
* Oversee documentation and compliance with licensor secrecy agreements.
Required Skills/Qualifications
* Degree qualified (Chemical Engineering).
* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership)
* Proven experience in leading process engineering teams and delivering designs.
* Expertise in system design and equipment sizing (pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, separators etc.) and preparing process deliverables.
* Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovation skills.
* Exceptional communication and organisational abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
* Customer-focused mindset and capability to deliver results within budget and timelines.
