Role Purpose:
This role is within the Infrastructure and Cloud - Networks Products & Services (NPS) team of LSEG. NPS is a foundational element of our Infrastructure & Cloud division and provides network infrastructures which support all the products in LSEG.

Network Product Lines:
1. Local Area Networks (LAN) Connectivity: includes network connectivity inside Data Centres (DCs) and Enterprise Offices.
2. Wide Area Networking (WAN) and Edge Connectivity: includes inter connection among DCs and Point of Presences (Pops), cloud connectivity, connection to exchanges around the world.
3. Market and Customer Connectivity: includes the network infrastructures supporting London Stock Exchange and connection towards our customers.
4. Application Network Connectivity: includes all application facing network services for example Load Balancer (LB), Firewall (FW), NTP/PTP etc.
5. Automation: includes all the automation tools and platforms for NPS to support internal/external customers.
6. Observability: includes the definition and implementation of tooling, observability standards and make sure we can build end to end insights to our network estate.
Each Product is supported by a team of products and service focussed team who ensure product availability, deliver standard service catalogue changes, and drive service improvement via Service Reliability Engineering.
This role sits under NPS Design and Engineering team, which leads the Architecture and Design Standards of NPS. This is a senior technical position for an engineering specialist in the Network Design and Engineering team focusing on elements such as DDI, Load balancing, NTP, proxy, firewall and security services to develop a strategy with LSEG business, product, architecture and design.
The role requires to combine elements of architecture, design, governance, and consultation to produce Network Service Architectures, Designs and Standards which align with business and architectural requirements.
With a validated technical background, the ideal candidate should follow industry standard development frameworks incorporating planning, designing, testing, implementing, operating, optimizing, and be able to effectively participate in multi-functional meetings, clearly articulate Network Service features and capabilities, translate business requirements into technical requirements, and ultimately, into outcomes that are fit for purpose and production-level use.
Qualifications:
1. Rich experience and strong capabilities in networking.
2. Proven abilities to architect, design, define standards, generate, and deploy blueprints of network designs.
3. Good understanding of traffic patterns, packet-captures and network protocols/applications (TCP/IP, HTTPS/SSL/TLS) and internet architectures.
4. Rich experience, ideally validated by F5 certifications, with Load balancers (F5 GTM/LTM with iRules).
5. Desirable knowledge on DDI (Infoblox), NTP/PTP, Firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto or Fortinet) or automation with Python, Ansible, terraform, GitLab pipelines using DevOps practices.
6. Desirable knowledge with Cloudflare, Akamai, Infoblox BloxOne.
7. Desirable experience with proxies, packet-capture devices, IDS/IPS and DDoS.
8. Experience with cloud connectivity and cloud networking constructs (specifically cloud LBs) for at least one cloud provider - Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle.
9. Experience with observability protocols, tools, and applications.
Responsibilities:
1. Top level load balancing tasks (F5 GTM/LTM with iRules, SSL, route domains) related to the lifecycle, maintenance, and support of the infrastructure using Viprion, iSeries, R series and Velos platforms.
2. DHCP/DNS/IPAM, Firewalls, Load balancers, Time protocol, proxy and Cloud applications infrastructure management, design, and automation.
3. Assess, plan, design, capacity management and life cycle management of the network infrastructure.
4. Monitoring and observability of the network applications products infrastructure.
5. Source code management and development, including F5 iRules.
6. Leverage testing environments using industry practices for pre-testing changes and proof of concept.
7. On-call rotation shifts (compensated) during weekends (as needed).
8. Handle projects with contending priorities in an evolving environment.
9. Advocate for documentation and setting technical standards.
10. Good interpersonal skills supported by expressive oral and written communication.
11. Excellent presentation skills and a solid attention to detail.
12. Great teamwork skills with the ability to observe aspects from varying perspectives.
13. Task and results oriented ability to handle multiple streams of contending work priorities and maintain a focus on results while thinking like a customer.
14. Excellent critical thinker and problem-solving abilities and time/tasks leadership skills with a focus on goals and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
15. Ability to thoroughly deliver a proven and accurate root cause analysis.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science in IT field and/or equivalent certifications and experience.
Demonstrable experience in Fiance industry is a plus.
