Job Description
Accountant
We are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join our Finance Department here at our site in Craven Arms. The hours are Monday -Thursday 08.30 -17.00 & Friday 08.30 -16.30.
Main Objective
To manage the day to day operation of the accounts payable and receivable departments in support of the Company's business plan, quality standards and operational objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Oversee Purchase and Sales Ledger functions
2. Authorise supplier invoices
3. Reconcile General Ledger and Control Accounts
4. Prepare and process all journals for General Ledger input
5. Maintain Fixed Asset register and process all necessary journals
6. Reconcile Farm bank statements and cashbook
7. Control and distribute Petty Cash as required
8. Reconcile and analyse Company credit card expenditure
9. Review and settle staff expense claims
10. Submit data and surveys for ONS/SECR
11. Prepare and provide VAT return to Finance Director for review
12. Analyse Purchase Ledger expenses and process group recharges as applicable
13. Analyse monthly sales figures and lead in preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts
14. Lead on year end accounts preparation including being main point of contact for auditors and corporation tax consultants
15. Prepare and input Company rent invoices
16. Liaise with other members of staff / Departments to resolve problems
17. Assist with provision/preparation of financial data and reports
18. Apprise the Finance Director on all pertinent accounts’ information
19. Perform any other duties as required and as commensurate with the role

5. CIMA or ACCA desirable but not essential
