Sunderland City Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.
Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment.
Experience of functional assessment experience of working with people with disabilities/vulnerable people.
Providing expert advice, and assessments for equipment and home modifications.
Recommending adaptations.
Supporting independence, prescribing minor aids, equipment, minor works, moving and handling plans, engaging with other services and referring on.
Moving and handling assessments.
An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.
Understand and demonstrate the council's values and behaviours, working collaboratively with colleagues, attending meetings and proactively contributing and problem solving.To Be Successful.
Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with minimum of 2 years' experience.
Community based with provision of equipment to support home working.
Previous experience working with adaptations.
