Position: Internal Sales Executive
Location: Sandwell, West Midlands
Package: £28k-£32k DOE + Bonus + Private Medical

You have the opportunity to join a well-established metals business at their site in Sandwell, West Midlands.
You will be responsible for the promotion of steel products to the UK market. The pro-active inside sales role is to provide a proactive and positive approach to not only our current customers but to highlight opportunities at suppressed customers and future prospects. The role must provide a totally comprehensive, efficient and professional service to customers in the effective sales territories.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of both existing and prospect accounts and will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable with making a realistic number of pro-active calls per day necessary to achieve set targets, working with our external sales team, generating interest, researching prospects, and closing sales.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily review of sales performance establishing which customers are behind target and consequently require proactive sales calls.
2. Constantly working to achieve our monthly sales targets and highlighting areas that need immediate attention in order to maximise our sales opportunities.
3. Maintain regular contact with the customers for which you have internal account responsibility and provide effective support for those customers where you are performing a supporting role for the external sales team. Reporting regularly to both the sales team leader and Divisional Manager on progress.
4. Continually evaluate competitor activity - viewing their strengths, weaknesses and packages on offer e.g. product/services to see how the company can enhance the service it offers to its customers.
5. Assist with any sales campaigns, open days, trade days, customer presentations where required.
6. Ensure that all operating procedures are adhered to and work with associates to continually review ways in which to improve efficiencies within this area.
7. Ensure that we adopt a best practice approach within the team by highlighting areas where the team as a whole can benefit either through different ways of working or adherence to systems.
8. Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
9. Closes new accounts by answering telephone, fax, and e-mail inquiries; verifying and entering information.
10. Fills orders by transferring orders to fulfillment; communicating expected delivery date; explaining stock-outs.
11. Develops accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features.
12. Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities.
13. Accurately records customer interaction history within the company's CRM systems.
14. Capture key account information such as contact details, industry segmentation data & spend potential and record this within the company's CRM systems.
15. Be prepared to, where necessary, work outside of normal working hours if this is necessary to achieve company targets.

Physical Demands
Your role will be mainly office based, although you may be travelling to visit other companies or to attend meetings and conferences.
