Job summary The postholder will lead the delivery of a safe, efficient, reliable and cost-effective aseptic dispensing and manufacturing service, shaping strategic direction in consultation with the Team Leader - Aseptic Services. The post holder will be the person named on the MHRA specials manufacturing license for Wirral University teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as being responsible for aseptic production and for the maintenance of this license. The post holder will be accountable for ensuring that aseptic dispensing and manufacturing activities comply with all current statutory obligations, codes of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), the requirements of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and other appropriate professional guidelines. As part of GMP standards the post holder will be responsible for the continued review of all environmental monitoring and the identification of nay out of limit results or trends. They will develop and lead delivery of appropriate action plans to address any issues raised by this monitoring. They will be professionally and managerially responsible for the development, management and co-ordination of staff working in the ASU, ensuring that education, training, validation and competency assessments are all relevant, up to date and of the appropriate standard. In the role the postholder will work on their own with broad responsibility requiring little management.
