Job Purpose: Be part of the Rental Income Team, providing high-quality housing support to residents. Offer intensive help to vulnerable residents to keep their tenancy and reduce the risk of eviction. You'll support people with various needs to improve their living situation. Help residents increase their income by advising on welfare benefits, Discretionary Housing Payments, and the Household Support Fund. Manage and assess referrals for support, offering personalised help to a group of residents referred to you by internal and external services. Deliver responsive and high-quality service to residents, aiming to improve customer satisfaction and support tenancy sustainability. Work closely with teams like the Neighbourhood Team and external organisations (e.g., debt advice agencies, credit unions, and law centres) to provide the best support. Job Duties: Provide expert support for tenants with Assured Short-hold Tenancies, focusing on welfare benefits (including Universal Credit) and other relevant financial support options. Manage a caseload of residents, offering individualised support. Assess resident's situations by conducting interviews and home visits, maintaining accurate records, and identifying any risks to their tenancy or well-being. Create and regularly review Support Plans to promote independent living and tenancy stability. Stay proactive in identifying and addressing challenges that might affect tenant's ability to maintain their tenancy. Use your expertise to assist tenants with welfare benefit applications, appeals, and financial hardship support, including helping them secure grants. Refer residents to external support services when needed and ensure they receive appropriate long-term assistance or alternative housing solutions. Lead meetings with external agencies to ensure tenants get the support they need. Provide training to new staff and interns, including helping them with their development plans. Meet targets for your caseload and help increase income for residents, contributing to the team's overall success. Communicate effectively with residents and other teams via various methods (email, text, phone, etc.). Offer residents opportunities for training, apprenticeships, or work experience to help them find employment. Maintain detailed records of your work with residents, providing reports and statistical data when needed. Handle complaints about services within company timelines. Build and maintain strong relationships with the Rental Income Team and other internal and external partners. Represent the team at resident association meetings, including occasional evening meetings, and answer resident's questions effectively. Be flexible and willing to take on other tasks within the role as required.
