The project: Supporting an ongoing multi-£m, London based BAU/lifecycle replacement programme that extends beyond 2029, across a diverse range of historic and listed buildings looking to optimise energy efficiency and carbon reduction through a retrofit approach
The programme requires MEPH design management support relating to various specialisms including conservation architecture, civil and structural engineering, mechanical, electrical and public health engineering, broadcasting, infrastructure and public realm.
The design management support will act as the interface between the appointed design consultants and the client's team to ensure the design meets the programme objectives.

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking mechanical electrical and public health (MEPH) design manager to join our established and growing team in London.
You will be responsible for:
* Liaises with the lead designer and design consultants and specialist consultants through all RIBA stages.
* Leads the design management of the mechanical electrical and public health (MEPH) design working with lead designer the senior design manager and other design consultants in the project team to deliver all MEPH outputs required for each RIBA stage. Ensure timely submission of RIBA stage reports, deliverables and design sign off.
* Supports with the MEPH design management of the lead designer and any other design consultants obtaining all statutory requirements in particular planning approvals, listed building consent, utility approvals and building regulations requiring MEPH input.
* Supports with the management of tools including but not limited to design responsibility matrix, design programme, design risk registers, EWNs, change control process etc.
* Leads the management of the design team to ensure MEPH design strategies including but not limited to procurement, commercial, BIM, sustainability, fire engineering are successfully developed throughout the delivery of the project.
* You will be responsible for leading the delivery of MEPH design management to deliver key strategic outcomes directly influencing strategic development. You will have a knowledge and practical experience working towards fire regulations compliance.
* You will be the main point of contact for client design issues, ensuring relationships are managed and maintained.
* Leads reviewing the MEPH design proposals identifying deficiencies and opportunities, completeness, quality and coordination of the design.
* Ensures all design activities are co-ordinated and ensuring timely and efficient stakeholder engagement, incorporation of stakeholder feedback in the design as required.
* Supports the senior team members with the development of a detailed design programme with all relevant parties to satisfy design, procurement, cost and construction requirements.
* Chairs/ attends and coordinates internal and external meetings including client meetings design team and internal and external stakeholder meetings.
You will need to have:
* A degree in engineering, building surveying or architecture, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
* Extensive professional design management experience with a focus on engineering building services and retrofit.
You will also have:
* Membership of, CIBSE, CIOB, ARB, RIBA, MICE RICS, CIAT or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
* Depth of Knowledge of MEPH systems within Listed buildings and working on MEPH retrofit projects.
* Depth of Experience of managing relationships with many key senior stakeholders.
* Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes through all stages
* Extensive knowledge of statutory regulations, in particular building regulations, fire regulations, planning and listed building consent.
* Extensive experience working with statutory utility bodies.
* Leadership and management and experience of large, diverse teams.
* Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
* You are confident working with digital design and management programmes
