Hiring for a Junior Process Engineer
Looking for an ambitious and engaging chemical engineer with a passion for the renewable energy sector. This is an entry-level role, requiring a minimum of 1 year in the industry, a chemical engineering degree, a full driver's license, access to a car, and full right to work in the UK.
With guidance from the Engineering Projects Leader & Senior Process Engineer, liaise with the Operations team when scoping new projects. Ensure the Operations Team is fully engaged with the scoping of the project and that the design scope is agreed upon.
With support from Process Engineers, produce engineering deliverables and provide engineering support to capital projects including:
1. Producing Mass / Energy Balances, BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment schedules, specifications / datasheets & control philosophy.
2. Input to Layout / General Arrangement drawings. Subcontract equipment design / selection & contract documents.
Support Project Engineers in the commissioning phase of major projects including:
1. As built P&IDs, equipment schedules.
2. Commissioning check sheets completed for all equipment.
With support from the engineering team, manage a process improvement project from start (development of scope and design) to finish (handover to operations) including:
1. Scope of Work.
2. P&IDs, equipment schedules.
3. Design Review.
4. Project Initiation Document.
5. Procurement.
6. Installation.
7. Commissioning.
With support from the engineering team, promote a positive safety culture & ensure site works comply with all appropriate Safety Health & Environmental requirements:
1. Work with the local H&S Coach/Advisor to ensure the site team is engaged with and fully aware of safety requirements on site. The 'Don’t Walk By' culture should be evident.
2. Attend regular safety meetings and site inspections.
3. Contribute to Safety Studies HAZID / HAZOP / LOPA.
4. Develop understanding / review external DSEAR studies.
