Job description
Who are Imagine Theatre?
Imagine Theatre, part of the Trafalgar Entertainment group of companies, are producers of pantomime and family theatre in the UK.
For the 2025/26 Christmas season, we will produce a large portfolio of pantomimes and children’s theatre. It will also see us open our 260th professional pantomime production.
Up to 30 full and part time staff work for Imagine Theatre. Our head offices are in Coventry, where we also accommodate a 65,000 sq ft warehouse packed with scenery, costumes, props and special effects. During the main Christmas show season, our staffing levels can exceed 450 people, working over multiple satellite sites.
During the 2025 Christmas season, a curtain will rise more than 1,000 times on one of our productions, playing to an audience of over 625,000 people. In addition, we have plans for a UK tour of ‘Justin Live- Time to Rock’ and a Scotland tour of ‘Hen Night Horror’.
What are we looking for?
We have a vacancy within our operations team for an individual who possesses a strong understanding of working in a theatrical and scenic environment.
With 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability in both technical theatre and scenic stores support.

* Working knowledge of Theatrical Health and Safety (LOLER, PUWER).
* Problem solving theatrical skills with ability to assist with modifications in order to ensure the set works.
* IT literate with basic knowledge of Office 365. Ability to learn new software as required.
* Ability to lift heavy items and equipment (manual handling training will be provided).
* Flexibility and a positive can-do attitude.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
* Assist with the management of the warehouse.
* Assist and manage the movement of equipment in the warehouse as required.
* Use and update Current RMS hire software.
* Update and maintain company documentation of sets.
* Supervise casual crew working in the warehouse.
* Maintenance and general housekeeping of the warehouse and work spaces.
* Hands-on maintenance and preparation of sets and special fx for own productions and hires to the highest standard; a level of carpentry or metal working skills is advantageous.
* Checking in/out items returned/sent.
* Ensuring all equipment is functional, clean, maintained and well presented.
* Loading/unloading of vans and trucks.
* Complying with company health and safety procedures.
* Basic painting skills; a level of scenic artistry skill is advantageous.
* A forklift Operators license is desirable but not essential. Training provided.
* An awareness of Health and Safety procedures within a theatrical and warehouse based environment are advantageous.
Key info:
Hours are 40 hours per week, plus lunch break. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm with overtime as occasionally required to complete the job (particularly during panto season). Hours can be slightly flexed.
Holiday is 30.5 days per year (rising to 33 days from 1st April 2025) inclusive of statutory bank holidays. Holiday is strictly limited in October and not allowed in November, December and January.
Location of work is Imagine Head Offices which from 1st April 2025 will be Trafalgar House, 186 Torrington Avenue, Coventry, CV4 9AJ. There could be some very limited home working, but this role is mainly head office based.
