A rare opportunity has arisen in our Packaging Delivery Team for someone to join our client as a Packaging Technologist permanently.
Using your experience, you will work alongside their experienced Packaging Delivery Team, responsible for driving the development of packaging for new and existing products, conducting testing of finished packs to assist in setting quality standards, and working with suppliers to improve the technical performance of existing packaging within the framework of Business Strategies.
This role will act as the subject matter expert on allocated projects in line with our business values and strategies, manage trials from concept to output, act as an escalation point for packaging quality, and support the delivery of unplanned business needs to ensure continuity of supply.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours over 5 days – Monday to Friday. We offer the opportunity for flexible/hybrid working, ideally including 3 days per week collaborating with your colleagues at their offices in North Yorkshire.
About You

1. Degree qualified in a scientific/technical discipline or equivalent work-related experience.
2. Hands-on packaging development experience, ideally within a food/beverage/FMCG environment.
3. Experience of working collaboratively as packaging subject matter expert on cross-functional project teams to deliver new product development and continuous improvement projects to brief, time, and cost.
4. Experience of arranging and conducting required line trials to validate packaging solutions, from drafting of trial protocols through to analysis and reporting of results and recommendations.
5. Intermediate knowledge of MSN365 and ideally CAPE or similar.
What We Offer You:
As a minimum, all employees receive free meals, drinks, and snacks while at work, a discretionary quarterly profit-share bonus, holiday allowance with the option to buy and (in some cases) sell additional days, company-wide employee discounts, access to the health cash plan, wellbeing support, company-funded counselling, and enrolment in the company pension.
Also offered is a range of development opportunities no matter your role and ambitions, encouraging everyone to explore what makes them the best version of themselves through external training programmes, apprenticeships, and internal 1:1 coaching schemes.
