Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor/ Project Manager Hull Rate negotiable 6 months QS & PM duties across programme of capital projects which includes corporate estate, commercial estate & housing estate Strategy- Research and collate information and data relating to quantity surveying and project management issues, initiatives and opportunities, within the Hull and surrounding areas, so that a strategic plan for the technical and financial management of all appropriate architectural design and construction projects and schemes can be formulated that enables the development of the annualised strategic plan for the property section and the Council’s Corporate Strategies. Customer Focus- Provide all the Quantity Surveying aspects for specific portfolios of architectural design and construction projects and schemes, so that all Works are financially evaluated, specified, and tendered, contracts are in place and controlled and value payments are made to contractors as appropriate, enabling the delivery of the annualised strategic plan for the design and construction group. Represent the Council on local/national user groups, professional bodies and committees, liaise with other local authorities, focus and technology groups, resulting in the development of partnerships, collaboration, the understanding and sharing of “best practice” and the involvement of the wider community in strategic direction of the Council’s management of design and construction. Performance Management- Project manage specific portfolios of design and construction projects, utilising cross-functional/departmental, multidisciplinary teams so that expectations are managed and met, the integrated delivery plan for the property service can be realised and the Council’s Corporate Strategies can be achieved. Proactively manage and take part in the development and practice of public consultation, relating to specific portfolios of design, construction and architectural projects, design feasibility studies and projects, ensuring innovative response solutions and community wide involvement in the understanding of appropriate delivery plans and that Council’s integrity is maintained. Demonstrate and develop a high level of competence, technical and specialist knowledge. Act as a champion for key schemes, ensuring the objectives are clearly articulated, and support the development of best customer practice through one’s commitment, initiative, and lead by example. Promote the services of Quantity Surveying and Project Management so that partnerships are developed, bids are tendered, and contract opportunities are secured, enabling the successful delivery of the business plan.
