We have a fantastic job opportunity for a Server and Network Analyst to assist the Network Assurance Lead and Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect in providing specialist technical advice, assurance, and expertise to ensure the Trust ICT Programme goals are met.
You will be expected to have experience of working in complex integrated architectures with evidence of being the subject matter expert in technical areas on a number of complex large-scale projects.
The work is varied and will require someone with confidence and the ability to think on their feet. This is a very busy and demanding role. Working hours are 9:00 to 17:00 or 08:00 - 16:00.
Main duties of the job
To be successful in this role you will have excellent analytical and communication skills, to understand complex technical solutions and explain them to a non-technical audience.
You must have a technical background with experience in delivering 2nd level IT support across multiple platforms including Windows desktops, servers, networking and telephony infrastructure.
You will also be proficient in identifying and documenting technical requirements for a particular IT solution.
Familiarity with network management tools and systems will be an advantage as the role includes monitoring the health of the Trust's ICT assets and working with our partners to rectify any problems.
Job responsibilities
* Assist the Network Assurance Lead and / or Senior Enterprise Infrastructure Architect in providing specialist technical advice, assurance, and expertise to ensure the Trust ICT Programme goals are met.
* Infrastructure Development and Project Support. Supporting project team to articulate user requirements to suppliers and providing technical evaluations of solutions.
* Technical Assurance, Documentation and Testing.
* Monitor health of Trust ICT assets, coordinate corrective actions and reporting.
Person Specification
Education and qualifications
* Level 5 or above qualifications in management of information systems, computer science or closely related field.
* CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification or equivalent.
* Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) accreditation, ITIL Foundation certificate in IT Service Management.
Knowledge
* Broad knowledge of the theory, principles and design of information systems, data management and network topologies and system testing.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, VLANs, DHCP, net switches, routers, proxies and firewalls.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, LAN/MAN/WAN.
* Network design and deployments including DNS, DHCP and Active Directory technologies.
* Working knowledge of virtual and storage technologies.
* Working knowledge of system testing methodologies.
* Have strong knowledge of the latest IT systems, legislation and best practice.
Experience
* Hands on delivery of technical experience with responsibility for second level support.
* Evidence of identifying and documenting technical functional requirements for a particular IT solution.
* Proven ability to produce succinct written information of a high quality that clearly sets out key issues, options, actions and recommendations.
* Evidence of the application of failure mode event analysis (FMEA) to a supplier solution and raising issues appropriately.
* Experience of performing systems analysis, systems integration and deployment.
