What you'll do
You will be:
* Installing, commissioning, and maintaining the Customer's network, supporting on Satellite Earth station and Fixed Line networking.
* Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, to a high level of technical detail, whilst ensuring simplicity of resolution communications.
* Supporting colleagues with fault finding and troubleshooting on customer critical systems.
* Providing technical insight to key faults and scenarios where service is under threat or impacted and where customer representatives required face to face support to overcome outages.
* Performing RCA and providing solutions based on output to mitigate any future instances, or provide visibility of impact should analysis not be implemented.
* Continually ensuring technical standards are met and maintained.
* Providing a key point of escalation for technical issues within National Grid and Vodafone - own it, solve it approach required.
* Assisting in providing technical approval/rejection for non-standard customer solution proposals.
* Taking a key role in Technical Forums between Vodafone and the customer.
* Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in providing service to customers and drive forward to resolution.
* Analysing management Information from Network elements and customer data and take action to pro-actively resolve any issues.
* Validating Network Changes to ensure customer compliance.
Please note you must have a flexible approach to travel if required to meet the demands of the business (travel remit covers Midlands + close to London). You will also be expected to participate in a 24/7 callout rota, typically 1 in every 4 weeks.
Who you are
You will have:
* Experience within a telecoms or service provider environment working on a wide range of telecoms engineering equipment and technologies, preferably Fixed-Line experience.
* Satellite Earth station maintenance and fault finding.
* Prior experience working on Routers and Switches (Cisco preferable).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Valid / full UK driving license.
* Eligibility for BPSS / SC clearance.
