Managing and execution of the purchasing function and associated duties.
This role is responsible for the planning & purchasing of products, managing orders, monitoring and managing inventory levels and negotiating favorable purchase pricing.
Working closely with Sales, Product and Operations Teams to perform all duties in a manner which ensures effective customer service.
The role manages day-to-day interaction with all suppliers.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)
* Processing of PO’s and other data using MRP/ERP system.
* Keeping a constant check on stock levels to maximise business efficiency.
* Forecasting likely levels of demand for products and/or component parts to be used in any manufacturing process.
* Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
* Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress.
* Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
* Checking costs, quality and levels of service.
* Conducting research to ascertain market trends.
* Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives.
* Verifying PO’s are processed correctly.
* Responding with a sense of urgency to any request or issue and providing information and/or resolution in an expeditious manner.
* Communicating important supplier information to Sales, Product and the SLT including information such as problem deliveries.
* Coordinating and leading order problem resolutions with Sales, Product and Operations.
* Developing relationships to achieve key partnership status with suppliers.
* Visiting suppliers and customers (UK & EU).
* This position is data intensive; the ability to process data sets into demand planning modelling via tools such as Excel is required.
* Experience in planning and/or buying with ERP/MRP systems.
* Industry experience in a manufacturing company and/or with Bills of Material preferred.
* Microsoft Office Proficiency-Emphasis on Excel & Outlook. Advanced experience with Excel required. Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data, in large files and with multiple sheets.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, suppliers and other employees.

Education/Experience:
* Full understanding of demand profile management. MRPII / SAP, including full knowledge of ROP, EOQ and supply chain scheduling. Materials / Production planning.
* 2+ years of experience in leading a purchasing team/department or be able to show an ability to manage a multi-million-dollar supply chain.
* 2+ years of experience within an electrical/electronic manufacturing, reseller or distribution market preferred.
