To take full operational responsibility for an extended Finance function. Working to develop the team’s capability, and helping maintain the function’s integrity and value as the business grows.
Finance currently provides all financial accounting services, treasury, an embryonic business partnering and reporting service and currently, the management of an emerging procurement function. This role needs an experienced, full-time professionally qualified and highly commercial accountant, who can lead the team and help build the capabilities of the Finance function to develop business activity reporting, create new process controls to oversee client fund management, build real time reporting of sales and service activities, alongside the development of more insightful business support and advice – all to drive growth, improve margins, improve efficiency and further develop the integrity of our professional standards.
The business is in great shape financially, it is cash generative, has no debts and maintains a prudent approach to working capital management. Our brand reputation is built on trust, professionalism and integrity and this role will assume the responsibility for maintaining and developing the breadth and depth of our solid financial behaviours.
The role will be hands-on, and will be appealing to a well-rounded professional who can engage confidently at all levels, with clients, professional advisors, suppliers and colleagues. Role Profile
We’re looking for an authentic experienced finance professional, who has the potential to grow this role alongside the development of the business, so you will need to provide evidence of progressive career advancement, together with substantial business experience in a senior finance management role. You will need to demonstrate an outstanding record of leading finance transformation through pro-active business partnering and have the capability of delivering high professional standards through direct reports or by managing multi-functional teams. You will have a collaborative and consultative management style, excellent communication skills and the drive and determination to play a key role in our future.
Main Responsibilities
* To oversee the day-to-day management of the Finance function, building the team’s effectiveness and capabilities through positive management, direct coaching and forward planning.
* Responsible for developing, owning and managing the company’s financial budgets, to underpin good governance and drive results through analysis and insightful business partnering.
* To encourage and be part of collaborative working across all business functions, representing Finance and providing pragmatic insightful support across all disciplines.
* Responsible for financial governance across all functions, working closely with external advisors, auditors and clients to maintain high standards that reflect positively on the business, its reputation and its brand.
* To ensure that all financial and activity reporting is timely, accurate and adds value to the business.
* To maintain an in-depth understanding of the product and service portfolio and identify opportunities for margin improvements.
* Take responsibility for pricing models, reviewing and improving product, service and client profitability.
* Take responsibility for all treasury matters, cash management and planning.
* Provide leadership, management and support to a procurement and product management department. Create a structured approach to ensure consistency, professional standards and a disciplined approach, within a creative and expanding product management function.

Qualifications
* Recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with extensive post qualification experience, preferably in a large multi-functional business environment.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
* Finance system skills, supported by report writing experience and familiarity with a CRM system.
