NOV is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of wireline products for slickline and electric line applications. Due to an increase in orders, we are expanding our team in Kintore and seeking a skilled Cell Leader for our KWINCH assembly and testing area.
As a Cell Leader, you will leverage your technical expertise and professional experience to contribute to the delivery of precision components for onshore and offshore applications. You will oversee a team, ensuring efficient assembly processes, material stock control, and adherence to safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Safety First: Ensure team adherence to safety protocols, stopping unsafe activities and reporting issues.
2. Work Planning: Schedule work orders for optimal efficiency and workflow.
3. Machine Operation: Safely operate machinery, maintaining HSE and housekeeping standards.
4. Production Management: Determine production requirements, manage schedules, and monitor manning levels.
5. Quality Assurance: Identify product defects, ensure quality procedures are followed, and maintain material traceability.
6. Continuous Improvement: Lead improvement initiatives, encourage idea generation, and use proactive problem-solving techniques.
7. Team Leadership: Mentor operators and apprentices, provide technical and behavioural guidance.
8. Collaboration: Coordinate with supervisors and line managers, attend production meetings, and support site improvement strategies.
9. Performance Monitoring: Track and optimize team performance, ensure customer care, and maintain equipment.
10. Administrative Duties: Update Kronos, assist in budget preparation, participate in interviews, and contribute to personnel feedback and training.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:

15. Qualifications: Time-served apprenticeship or HNC in a relevant subject.
16. Experience: Knowledge of wireline winches and masts, modern assembly facilities, and previous team leadership experience.
17. Technical Skills: Computer literacy (Microsoft Office), and stock management.
Desirable:
18. Further education in a relevant subject.
19. Proactive Problem Solving: Familiarity with root cause analysis tools such as Fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, etc.
20. Lean Manufacturing: Understanding of 5S principles and LEAN methodologies.
21. Experience: Supervisor/chargehand experience in previous employment.
