Job Role: Restaurant Manager
Rate of pay: £48,500 (+service charge)
Location: Windsor (Must Drive)
POSITION OVERVIEW
To be responsible for the smooth running of all restaurant services through close liaison with the Head Chef, Assistant Manager and service team. To develop a well-structured team of food and wine service motivated to deliver the highest levels of service and guest care and exceed expectations at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Manage, lead & motivate the team to enhance performance, achieve business goals, financial budgets and service standards.
2. Mentor, train & coach team members - includes day-to-day coaching & OTJ training & formal training.
3. Manage shift coverage, workload & resource distribution within & across teams.
4. Monitor & evaluate team performance & conduct PDPs for team supervisors.
5. Interviewing, hiring, induction & succession planning of staff.
6. Manage departmental budget, P&L, Payroll.
7. To develop, implement & monitor appropriate service & performance standards to ensure consistently outstanding guest experience.
8. Ensure all procedures & day-to-day performance comply with legislative & hotel guidelines e.g. Health & safety, food handling & hygiene legislation.
9. Identify, implement & monitor new standards to enable service excellence.
10. Ensure all team members are enabled to deliver consistently excellent service.
11. To manage, monitor & continually improve service & operational systems to enable seamless guest relations & comply with Hotel guidelines.
12. Develop, deploy & monitor professional guest service systems e.g.: Reservation system; guest records.
13. Manage & monitor an effective billing and cash management system i.e. Micros point of Sales.
14. Proactively monitor & respond to guest comments & feedback.
15. Drive innovation, identify & resolve issues & challenge current procedures to ensure continuous improvement of service & operational standards.
16. To ensure the menu and environment is consistent with a luxury establishment in order to meet & exceed guest expectations & maximise business growth.
17. Review & update menus to reflect Hotel status, industry trends & guest needs.
18. Manage & maintain excellent condition & care of furniture, fixtures & equipment.
19. Manage appropriate stocking & usage of linen, glassware, china & silverware.
20. Ensure all team members display excellence in personal grooming & hygiene.
21. To conduct sales & marketing activities in order to drive business growth & profit.
22. Contribute to the preparation & implementation of F&B marketing plan.
23. Plan, implement & monitor sales promotions & marketing activities as needed.
24. Manage day-to-day brand business to maximise sales.
25. Stay ahead of hospitality market trends & assess competition as needed.
26. To provide effective day-to-day communication with guests, colleagues & teams.
27. To work across brands & partner with colleagues to harmonize procedures & share knowledge.
28. To lead & facilitate Brand team meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRABLES
1. Hotel management diploma or university degree.
2. Previous experience in a five-star environment.
3. Experience within a leadership role.
4. Fluent written and spoken English.
5. Sound knowledge of the hospitality industry.
6. Business acumen and experience of budget management.
7. Proven financial success and ability to analyse data.
8. Service excellence.
