A quick look at the role
The Finance Business Partner is responsible for accounting and management reporting of operational sites. You will work closely with the operational management team to ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to.

Your core responsibilities
1. Lead, manage, and develop a team of 3 Senior Finance Analysts
2. Develop a commercial partner relationship with middle and senior operational management, providing key metrics and analysis as a foundation for sound commercial decision making
3. Improve staff awareness at all levels of finance and cost / revenue benefits as a key factor in all business decisions
4. Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analyses and bridges, to meet reporting deadlines and provide useful feedback/explanations of financial performance
5. Present monthly results to divisional FBP and other senior personnel including Operational teams to enable understanding of profitability
6. Preparation of the landfill void, capital and provisions calculations
7. Manage and control monthly CAPEX reporting and prepare forecast updates to ensure adherence to budget.
8. Preparation of budgets, forecasts and five year plans for the landfill business unit to enable the business to meet planning deadlines with accurate
9. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations to ensure controls are in place and being adhered to
10. Improve business processes and systems whilst translating and simplifying high volume data into highly relevant management Information and proactively seek and recommend profit improvement suggestions for the business unit
11. Deal with end of year audit queries to support the sign-off of year-end accounts

Our essential requirements
12. Qualified accountant
13. Experience supporting and influencing operational colleagues
14. Management accounting experience gained in the service, logistics or waste industries an advantage
15. Experience of managing and developing a small team
16. Strong system skills including advanced Excel and some Power BI
.
