Job Description
We are currently looking for a number of HGV Technicians to join our well-established client in Reading, Berkshire.
This is a permanent role working in a new state of the art workshop that maintains the company's fleet.
Responsibilities:
* Perform minor and major repairs on lorries and trailers
* Conduct regular maintenance on service lorries, including inspection, tyre rotation and oil changes
* Maintaining parts inventory
* Keeping workshop clean and tidy
* Working with the repairs team to diagnose issues with vehicles and plan repairs
* Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
* Maintain accurate records of each repair performed
Requirements:
* Class 1 and/or 2 HGV Licence (preferred)
* Certifications and/or qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
* Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components)
* Previous experience working as a mechanic, preferably specialising in HGVs, with a strong understanding of the engines and hydraulic systems
* Adhere to company health and safety regulations minimising risks and providing a safe working environment

Salary and working hours:
* £22 - £26 per hour (depending on experience)
* 7am - 5pm / Monday - Friday (Saturday work also available)
