Stott & May are looking to speak with experienced Cryptography Engineers to assist with the build and scale out of cryptographic operations within a Financial Services client.
Type: Contract/freelance – Initially 6 months | Awaiting IR35 determination
Day Rate: TBC – Market rate for this type of role
Location: Hybrid working – Some availability to work in London or Yorkshire offices advantageous
Senior Cryptography Engineer – Responsibilities:
1. Cryptography and Key Management
2. Facilitate the adoption and use of cryptographic capabilities
3. Contribute to implementing and operationalising secure key storage mechanisms
4. Assist with the implementation of cryptography processes across the team
5. Enable the build of secure products
6. Support ongoing audit and assurance activities around key protection standards
7. Work with the Platform Team in building pipelines (cryptography operations)
8. Key generation and distribution
9. Close collab with Cyber and InfoSec teams - integrating key management practices
Senior Cryptography Engineer – Technical:
10. Experience in key handling, segregation of duties
11. Detailed knowledge and understanding of how to respond to cryptography incidents
12. Previous knowledge working within a Cryptographic team
13. Certificate Management.
14. Solid understanding of HSM technologies & Thales would be great however, other (similar) competing technologies will be just fine
15. HashiCorp Vault experience and previous usage of would great
16. Solid grasp of various types of encryptions
17. File/Folder level encryption, database file encryption and application encryption
18. Communication, problem-solving, documentation, and presentation skills
19. Security & compliance frameworks/standards for cryptography (PCI-DSS, PCI-PIN, PCI-CPP, NIST, FIPS)
Senior Cryptography Engineer – Advantageous:
20. Software engineering and infrastructure as code
21. GitHub Actions and/or other potential CI/CD pipeline tooling
22. Security Architecture & design principles
23. Relevant certifications
Previous experience within Financial Services, Banking, Consumer Lending or Payments is very advantageous however, it is the experience within Key mgmt. and Cryptography that is necessary.
