HMP Dovegate is a Category B adult male facility near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, managed by Serco. The prison accommodates up to 1,160 male prisoners aged 21 and over, including those on trial, remand, awaiting sentencing, and serving both long and short-term sentences.
HMP Dovegate is home to the UK’s only privately run purpose-built therapeutic facility, designed to help offenders break the cycle of reoffending through dedicated therapy programs.
As a Case Administrator in our Offender Management Unit (OMU), you’ll play a key role in managing critical information and supporting prisoner casework. From parole processing to public protection, every task you undertake will help ensure the smooth operation of our justice system.
You’ll work within one of the following specialised areas:
* Parole – Processing parole applications and ensuring deadlines are met
* Custody – Calculating sentence lengths and managing prisoner records
* Home Detention Curfew (HDC) & Releases – Ensuring correct release procedures and liaising with external agencies
* OCA (Offender Categorisation & Allocations) – Managing prison populations and transfers
* Public Protection – Monitoring high-risk offenders and collaborating with probation and law enforcement agencies
Rotational training is provided, ensuring you gain experience across all areas and develop a broad understanding of Offender Management.
Office opening times are - Monday – Friday – you will be required to be on a team rota that requires 1 or 2 late shifts per week, this is 9.00 – 17.30, main shifts are 8.00 – 16.30. Part-time hours / job share may be considered.
What You Need
* GCSEs in English and Maths
* IT literacy and keen attention to detail
* A proactive, adaptable mindset
* Previous admin experience is a plus but not essential – full training provided
