About the role
Morrison Water Services is recruiting for a Planning Supervisor to work on our Welsh Water contract in Wales.
The Planning Supervisor is responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of progressive metering projects, ensuring alignment with the overall programme objectives and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a meticulous and organised individual with strong analytical skills and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The Planning Supervisor will work closely with the Planning Manager and Programme Manager to develop and execute detailed project plans, monitor progress, and ensure data accuracy for reporting to clients, Ofwat, and DWI. This role is critical to the successful and cost-effective delivery of the operational programme of works.
As the Planning Supervisor your responsibilities will include:
Planning and Scheduling
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans for progressive metering installations, including resource allocation, timelines, and critical path analysis.
* Collaborate with the Programme Manager to integrate project plans into the overall programme schedule.
* Proactively identify and mitigate potential planning bottlenecks and delays.
* Optimize resource utilization to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
* Ensure all planning activities adhere to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Compliance & Data Accuracy:
* Ensure all meters are Migo and the Work Management System is accurate.
* Maintain a high standard of planning compliance, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
* Implement and enforce data quality control measures to ensure accuracy of information used for reporting to clients, Ofwat, and DWI.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to planning effectiveness and data accuracy.
* Proactively address any data discrepancies or compliance issues.
Customer & Noticing:
* Oversee the planning and execution of customer communication and notification processes related to progressive metering installations.
* Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers regarding project timelines, access requirements, and potential disruptions.
* Manage the noticing process, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in line with New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991 and the Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004.
* Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Collaboration & Communication:
* Work closely with the Planning Manager and Programme Manager to ensure alignment of planning activities with overall programme objectives.
* Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including operations teams, customer service, and management.
* Provide regular updates on project progress, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in the planning process.
* Stay up to date on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to progressive metering.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of new planning tools and techniques.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
* Proven experience in planning and scheduling, preferably within the utilities or infrastructure sector.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., Ofwat, DWI).
* Experience in customer communication and notification processes.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
