Role Purpose:
The Commercial Director of Strategy and Growth plays a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic objectives, ensuring commercial success, and leading growth initiatives. In collaboration with the operational leads and the Head of Finance, this position is responsible for leading the commercial elements of business development, optimizing bid processes, and ensuring the commercial health of projects. The individual will provide leadership in setting fee scales and pricing strategy.
Additionally, they will ensure that the business's commercial delivery is consistent, analyze results to identify trends and performance insights, and provide actionable commercial recommendations to drive sustained growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Execute Commercial Strategies: Create and implement strategies that align with the company's business objectives, focusing on revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability.
2. Conduct detailed risk assessments of bids and proposals to mitigate potential commercial risks.
3. Monitor financial performance of the businesses and make data-driven decisions to enhance profitability.
4. Analyze and review the commercial results of ongoing and completed projects, identifying lessons learned and developing strategies to improve outcomes and profitability.
5. Collaborate closely with local SMTs to ensure their discipline teams are aligned on project objectives and client expectations.
6. Act as a key liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, resolving commercial challenges effectively as required.
7. Ensure governance over commercial terms and conditions of engagement, ensuring compliance and consistency across all proposals and terms of engagement.
8. Implement and oversee governance on supply chain management, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and ethical sourcing across all supplier relationships.
9. Ensure that the governance relating to the business PII is adhered to and monitor the renewal of the PII and regular review of the bordereau along with the operational team.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in a construction-related discipline.
2. Experience: Extensive experience in commercial leadership roles within the design, engineering, or related industries.
3. Proven track record of preparing successful bids and managing project profitability.
4. Experience in strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management.
5. Familiarity with financial software and project management tools.
