Reporting into the Head of Business Development, the Business Development Manager is responsible for developing the strategy, planning and managing business development activity and pipeline to support business growth and ensure outcomes are delivered to achieve business and strategic goals for their aligned business unit. As part of the Marketing and Business Development Team this role working collaboratively and closely with Marketing colleagues, particularly the Acquisition and Campaigns Team, will support and be responsible in both acquiring and nurturing growth from new and existing relationships.
* Responsibility, leadership and implementation of business development strategies for the aligned business unit with the strategic aim of maximising profitable revenue, building new business pipelines and meeting more needs for existing relationships.
* Work collaboratively with other Business Development Managers across all Business Units to identify, drive and maximise opportunities in each market,
* Utilising reporting systems, new business dashboards and data insights for ROI to include tracking and monitoring of activity
* Dedicated time in market, identifying opportunities, attending meetings to win new clients and developing new relationships - leading to strategic profitable growth.
* Have an understanding of the Groups legal and financial services and products in order to advise others and promote/sell to external clients.
* Preparing business cases and proposals to support opportunities that drive growth.
* Responsible for assigned key accounts/intermediaries/panels/partnerships to support growth, with action plans to achieve appropriate objectives, research and knowledge sharing across the firm.
* Developing presentations and proposal documents and accompany partners on new business pitches where appropriate in conjunction with in the Bids and Acquisitions Team.
* New Propositions: Support the launch and adoption of new propositions and packages.
* To be the expert voice and representation of the client in the relevant market to ensure our approach is relevant facilitate an account management role and act as sponsor of work.
* Work alongside our Responsible Business Team to bring the Responsible Business strategy to life through business development identifying new opportunities to create new relationships or partnerships and using it to help build relationships with existing clients and contacts., Our responsible business programmes are fundamental to who we are and our purpose. * You will have proven experience working in a business development or sales and marketing role.
* Experience and ability to be proactive and engaged in external market, developing relationships with clients, contacts or intermediaries.
* Can interpret and make good use of data to make sound decisions and encourages others to do so.
* Is hugely flexible, collaborative and creative and will thrive on change, challenges the status quo and constantly looks for new opportunities to do things better.
* Is obsessive about client care and constantly seeks to delight the client. Will leads by personal example and encourage others to give outstanding client service
* Experience of working in a market facing, multi-disciplined marketing and business development team in a medium/large organisation.
* Strong in written communications with an eye for the detail.
* You will have a CIM qualification or a Degree based in Marketing or Business, although not essential.
