Job Title: Principal Scientist

As we continue to expand our portfolio of ground-breaking therapies, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientist.
Key Responsibilities:
* You will be responsible for guiding and developing the scientific and strategic plan.
* You will be responsible for overseeing and managing drug discovery, pre-clinical and translational studies both internally and externally.
* Leading a team of 3 scientists.
* Managing relationships with externals service providers which includes consultants and CROs.
* Support the VP and CEO in defining the business strategy by guiding pipeline development.
* Provide expert opinions on all aspects of research relevant to drug discovery and preclinical development in the areas of Oncology and Immunology.
* Oversee internal project management across all sections (protein science, bioconjugation, biology), ensuring delivery of project milestones according to timelines in accordance with the project development plan, facilitating excellent communication between internal team and executive management.
* Present data at key conferences and to external parties, as and when required.
Qualifications:
* PhD in Immunology/Cancer Cell Biology or a related field
* Over 5 years' industrial experience in biotech/pharma/CRO within drug discovery and research.
* Prior experience in the successful design of pre-clinical in-vivo cancer models and in vitro compound screening cascades
* Experience in direct or matrix team leadership
* The role is a on-site position and would require a minimum of on-site presence in Alderley Edge 4 days per week. The incumbent must be already living in the local region or willing to relocate (within the UK).
