We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant with experience or interest in supporting children with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young children, helping them to achieve their full potential. The Role: As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for children in a small adapted group provision. You will play a crucial role in supporting children with additional needs, including those with physical, learning, or emotional challenges, ensuring that each child receives the individual support they require to thrive. Working hours are from 8.30am-1pm. This will include supporting the children at lunchtime. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Key Responsibilities: Support children in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to engage with learning activities. Assist with the implementation of tailored learning plans for children with additional needs. Provide emotional and behavioural support to children in a nurturing and sensitive manner. Help create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed. Support children in developing social and communication skills, using positive reinforcement and appropriate interventions. Assist with the preparation and use of resources, including visual aids and adaptive tools. Work in partnership with parents and outside agencies to ensure the best outcomes for all children. About You: We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and proactive individual who has: Experience working with children, particularly those with additional needs, in an early years setting. A good understanding of child development and strategies for supporting children with diverse learning needs. A calm and flexible approach A strong team player with a sense of humour Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. A willingness to invest in your own CPD An understanding of relevant safeguarding and child protection procedures. A strong commitment to working in partnership with children, parents, governors and the wider community underpinned by our values of kindness, trust, courage and respect.
