Credit Controller - 8 month Fixed Term contract - maternity cover
£25,000 - £30,000 + 23 days holiday, pension
Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Start date - mid to end of November 2024
5 days per week in the office initially (then long term potential for hybrid working)
About the Role:
Our well-established, key client, is very proud of their recent awards and is very proud of their experienced, collaborative, talented workforce who are spread across the UK. Operating in the B2B space, they are in need of an experienced Credit Controller, initially on an 8 month maternity contract. Ideal candidates will be available at short notice and be able to hit the ground running, adding value from day 1.
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader, working within a team of 5.
2. Processing of all the sales invoices each day, submitting as required, using customer portals, management systems, emailing and posting.
3. Reconciling customer accounts and sending statements out.
4. Ensuring accounts are maintained within agreed terms and credit limits.
5. Telephone chasing of clients overdue invoices, mainly corporate and SME clients.
6. Reporting old outstanding debt to the Credit Team Leader and communicating any potential debtors issues.
7. Indicating to the Group Credit Manager where necessary if legal action is required.
8. Handling all customer queries, assisting with discrepancies in a timely manner.
9. Liaising with different departments within the business to resolve issues.
10. Processing and managing high volumes of data using Excel skills.
11. Maintaining records of customer accounts and payment terms.
12. Maintaining a database of customer information on Excel and NetSuite.
13. Working closely with the accounts team, keeping records up to date, processing payments, and assisting with month-end tasks.
14. Ad hoc duties and covering for other staff members.
Qualifications:
1. Recent experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
2. Excellent negotiation skills and a professional telephone manner.
3. Strong spoken and written communication skills.
4. Significant numerical knowledge and advanced skills in MS Excel and Word.
5. Ability to work independently or within a team.
6. Reliable and approachable with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Additional Information:
Our Aylesbury client is able to move very quickly on interviews and onboarding. Ideally, you will be available at short notice to commence this role. There may be potential longer-term opportunities available for the right candidate.
