Job Description:
Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are more than 36,000 people in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
Our Landscape, Masterplanning, and Urbanism (LMU) team are looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing team, which consists of 70+ people offering the full spectrum of Landscape Architecture, Masterplanning, and Urban Design services.
As part of our Environmental team, you'll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.
We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we're feeling the effects of climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we're seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations.
As part of our team, you will have a strong focus on infrastructure-led projects in tandem with master planning and urban design projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including our in-house disciplines and high-profile designers as well as our sector-leading external partners. You'll have the opportunity to work on some of the UK's largest, most complex, and technically demanding projects. These currently include major large-scale Masterplans, City Centre public realm regeneration projects, Green Infrastructure strategies, and Landscape Masterplanning for some of the UK's largest residential and mixed-use developments as well as significant infrastructure projects such as:
* Glasgow Neighbourhoods
* Westerhill Masterplan
* Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) such as Lower Thames Crossing
* Various Future High Street Fund projects and Town Investment Funds
* Northstowe Masterplan / Urban extension
* Perry Barr Regeneration Development
* Rochdale Canal and various other Projects (Canal and River Trust)
However, not all of our projects are large scale. We have equally exciting smaller projects, which together present a rich and varied portfolio of projects and clients at national and local levels, and in both the private and public sectors.
You'll be challenged and inspired by projects that demand a variety of ideas and solutions. It's why we value collaboration. You'll work with talented colleagues who bring fresh thoughts. And whilst each Arcadian brings their own perspective, we are united by a passion for sustainability, collaboration, and a desire to solve the most complex challenges our world faces.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience working as a Landscape Architect on infrastructure-led projects (i.e., rail or highways)
* Experience working as a Landscape Architect on small to large-scale Masterplans (residential and mixed-use developments), City Centre public realm regeneration projects, Green Infrastructure strategies
* Experience working on landscape planning and assessment projects
* Confident communication skills and report writing
* Good hand-drawing and graphic skills
* Proficient in Project Wise, AutoCAD, and Adobe
* Driving Licence
* Desired: Revit and/or 3D Sketchup, Modelling tools
Qualifications:
* Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture or closely related subject
* Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute
