The Paediatric Day Surgery unit is looking to recruit a registered Paediatric nurse to join the team, delivering care to patients attending for day surgery, from pre-assessment, admission, and through to discharge.
You should be a motivated, dynamic, and caring registered practitioner who can demonstrate a high standard of clinical practice. You must possess excellent communication and team working qualities, with a willingness to learn new skills. You should thrive on working in a busy environment and be forward-thinking and passionate about delivering a high standard of care. We welcome individuals who have an enthusiastic approach to teaching students and junior members of staff.
Support and training will be given to staff to develop their skills in all areas of the day surgery service.
Main duties of the job
Working within the pre-assessment, admission and discharge areas, recovery area, and theatres, you will deliver high-quality care to our patient group.
Job responsibilities
The responsibility of the registered practitioner/nurse is to work as a member of the multidisciplinary perioperative team, practising a high standard of clinical care and participating in all activities of the department to enhance the patient's experience. The post holder will work flexibly alongside team members to meet the needs of the service. The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care during their span of duty.

* Registered Paediatric Nurse
* Demonstrate commitment to undertake further academic study
Experience
* Can demonstrate a high standard of clinical practice
* Prior experience in Day Surgery/Surgical Care/Recovery/Theatres
Skills / Knowledge
* Ability to work effectively within the perioperative team
* Use evidence-based practice to provide high standards of care
* Demonstrate awareness of current issues in health care
* Show some awareness of theatre specialty
* Numeric skills and computer skills
Personal Attributes
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Good written and verbal skills
* Able to prioritise and organise own workload
* Can demonstrate they are a team player
* Can contribute towards a positive learning environment with a willingness to undertake further training as necessary
