Situated close to the centre of Cambridge, Long Road is a popular and successful Sixth Form College with over 2,600 16-19 year old full-time students. All our staff share a passion for teaching and learning and are encouraged to support each other and to recognise each other’s strengths. We are committed to enhancing the individual skills and knowledge of all our staff, to enable them to work positively with our students and our community partners.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and dedicated professional to join our established Business & Health team, teaching Business A-level, Level 3 Applied Business, and Economics A-Level. The ideal candidate will be committed to our ethos of working in partnership with individual students to ensure that each achieves their full potential.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, a team player, and wishes to develop their craft within a supportive environment. This role would be suited to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) or teachers looking to complete Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), as well as teachers with experience. We would also consider applications from individuals who have taught Business and/or Economics but may not be subject specialists.
Within the College, there is a genuine and shared commitment to ongoing professional development, and we offer a supportive environment in which to further develop your career. We actively promote the use of evidence-based pedagogy in the classroom, within the department, and offer support to teachers through individual or group research projects. A teacher at Long Road is currently not required to be a pastoral tutor.
Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic, organised, and committed to our ethos of working in partnership with individual students to ensure that each achieves their full potential.
Applications from Early Career Teachers are welcomed.
