The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established, award-winning Building Services Consultancy, providing engineering services, design, and asset management for the built environment. With over 50 years of experience, continued growth has created a new opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design for buildings, comprehensive understanding of British standards building codes and regulations, and a proven track record of successful project management.
The Position
As the Senior Electrical Engineer your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Leading and contributing to the design and development of electrical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
2. Overseeing and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
3. Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior and graduate electrical engineers.
4. Engaging with clients to understand project requirements, present technical solutions, and address client concerns. Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
5. Ensuring that all designs and installations comply with relevant codes.
6. Implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of electrical designs. Conducting thorough reviews of project deliverables.
7. Performing site inspections and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers and project managers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall building designs.
8. Staying updated on emerging technologies in electrical engineering and building services. Integrating innovative and sustainable solutions into designs.
The Person
1. Preferably at least five years' experience and a relevant degree, ie Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
2. Proficient in the use of Office 365, Amtech (Trimble), Dialux, Relux.
3. A conscientious and focused outlook to your profession.
4. The ability to think 'outside the box' in solving engineering and commercial problems.
5. Highly motivated with a strong aptitude to learn and develop skills.
6. A positive and friendly team approach.
7. An enthusiastic and willing personality willing to represent FHP through client relationships and develop these further.
8. Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, Revit.
9. Previous working experience and knowledge of retail, commercial, residential, healthcare, and custodial sectors.
