As the Retail Director, your responsibility is to develop and direct Saucony EMEA retail operations to build and strengthen our retail footprint, brand awareness and consumer love. The role has full responsibility for creating an EMEA retail strategy (Full Price, Outlet, SIS and Event Retail) while overseeing and ensuring store operations, merchandising and planning, and retail strategies and coaching, development and engagement of the Retail Team to optimize sales growth and profit goals. You will be someone that loves diving into the consumer, passionate for retail and in building communities. The role requires a strong leader who can influence and execute the brand vision within internal teams and internal and external stakeholders. You will bring retail expertise, a growth mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit to a brand that is older than 126 years and with an exciting growth opportunity ahead. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Develop the Saucony retail business plan including full sales, financial, organizational and operating plans • Own the P&L performance of all owned Saucony stores, implementing efficient management of costs to maximize profitability of the store portfolio • Build strategies to maximize sales performance and deliver on all Key Performance Indicators within all European owned stores • Provide overall retail functional leadership and direction for retail standards, systems and processes, store openings, day-to-day store operations, partner liaison as well as strategic planning and tactical execution of the retail growth plan • Create robust retail capabilities that ensures a compelling consumer experience and vibrant and passionate retail communities • Oversees the execution of retail marketing and sales in-line with the brand’s strategies to optimize share of market and profitability • Develop marketing strategies that driving both traffic and conversion through compelling windows and in-store presentations • Identify and secure appropriate properties to fulfill the Brands retail objectives • Lead a strong trading and community-building focus within the Retail division for Saucony EMEA, encouraging commercial decision making, leading amazing community events in retail and excellent visual presentation • Collaborate cross-functionally to create buy-in and organizational change • Key liaison/partner between Saucony owned retail operations and partner retail (i.e. franchise, distributor, etc.) • Build outstanding relationships with cross-functional partners (Merchandising, eCom, Marketing, Planning, Supply, Customer Service and Finance) and global functional leaders KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED • Experienced retail professional with a track record of launching/start-up operations in Europe • Leading and developing the retail strategy, concept and footprint of a brand. • Experience of lifestyle, sports or fashion brand would be an advantage • Solid general management, business planning, and business development skills with an entrepreneurial flair • Strong English oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills. • Proven leadership ability, with demonstrated success in team development, managing talent and stakeholder management • Results-driven individual • Passionate and committed to the role and the organization • You have an affinity to running and/or an active lifestyle • Highly competent when dealing with IT, including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint WORKING CONDITIONS • Competitive Pay and Bonuses • Generous Holidays and time away from work • Travel expenses paid • Office based – 20% Travel The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills which may be required.
