Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent band 5 Podiatrist to join East and North Herts Podiatry Team East & North Hertfordshire has a varied and interesting caseload of patients with an emphasis on caring for the at risk foot and wound care. The podiatry service is also commissioned to provide nail surgery but does not provide a social nail cutting service. We are looking for highly motivated individuals that are enthusiastic, forward thinking and keen to develop their clinical skills. We will offer you the support to develop your professional skills and knowledge and help you to achieve your potential. The service is delivered in Community Clinics, Health Centres and Acute and Community Hospital Sites. All of our clinics are well-equipped and we have a supportive skill mixed structure of clinicians. Staff are supported with appraisal (PDP), protected clinical supervision sessions, dedicated CPD time and a comprehensive Induction programme. The service hold regular team meetings and training sessions. Main duties of the job Applications are invited from a BSc qualified and HCPC registered podiatrist. This post would suit a new graduate Podiatrist due to qualify this summer. You will initially be employed as a Band 5 at your current salary whilst you are working through your Band 6 competencies as well as demonstrating these competently in practice. Please be aware that the maximum expected time to complete competencies and become a Band 6 - Specialist Podiatrist, will be approximately 18 months after starting your new role. In the event that you are successful in achieving this, then your salary will be reviewed and your pay band confirmed at band 6 pay step 1. In the unlikely event that you were underperforming against the competencies, an action plan would be put in place to address these competency gaps; you would remain as a Band 5 -Podiatrist and the opportunity for a Band 6 at this time will not be confirmed. Salary payment until your competencies as band 6 are met will be AfC band 5 scale. By the end of that time you will be undertaking assessment, diagnosis and treatment, including wound care across a number of community and acute locations.
