A leading mobile diagnostic and support service for Bus & Coach operators is looking for skilled Mobile Diagnostic Technicians to join our growing team. Specializing in heavy vehicles (mainly buses), we deliver top-tier diagnostics, inspections, and maintenance for Diesel-Mechanical, Electric, Hybrid, and Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles – all while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
The Role:
As a Mobile Diagnostic Engineer, you’ll be working on a variety of bus and coach brands, using the latest licensed software to diagnose and repair faults. You’ll have opportunities to develop your technical expertise, gain leadership experience, and work with cutting-edge vehicle technology.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct diagnostics & repairs using diagnostic software and tools
* Diagnose & fix electrical and mechanical faults for a "fix first time" service
* Work on major systems such as WABCO & Cummins
* Carry out fleet maintenance, MOT prep, inspections & breakdown support
* Support workshops with shift cover & supervision when required
* Ensure compliance with industry standards through audits & reporting
* Get involved in safety recalls & dealership collaborations
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or similar
* UK or IRE driving licence (clean preferred, all considered)
* IRTEC accreditation (Bus & Coach preferred) or willingness to obtain it with company support
Desirable:
* 4+ years post-apprenticeship experience
* High Voltage training or electrical certifications
* Keen to develop & gain specialist qualifications (IMI Level 4 HV training, IRTEC)
