JOB SUMMARY
To be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of prescription requests for our patients, liaising effectively with all relevant personnel. Duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of repeat prescriptions in electronic and hard copy format, including online requests. In addition, the post-holder will be required to support with ad-hoc Administrative and Reception duties when required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deal with prescription queries from patients, care homes and community pharmacies.
2. Patient Services
* To process repeat prescriptions within a timely scale to the highest standard.
* To manage the prescribing process including all requests, monitoring usage and informing GPs of any compliance issues or queries.
* To communicate effectively with patients ensuring they understand why tests have been requested.
* To clearly communicate with clinicians.
* To liaise with community pharmacies and care homes if any issues arise.
1. Responsibility for administration
* To provide regular support to leads and other departments.
* To keep patient records clear and up to date.
* To cover late night reception when required in a flexible working arrangement.

* Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development.
* Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.
5. Contribution to the implementation of services:
* The post-holder will:
* Apply practice policies, standards and guidance.
* Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work.
* Participate in audits where appropriate.
