Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. FOAA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our accounting team.
Responsibilities:
1. Month end closing activities
2. Preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual reconciliations
3. Balance sheet analysis
4. Support the Management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures, and policies
5. Promote systems/process development within the department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements

Knowledge & Skills / Business Acumen / Education & Experience:
1. Must be a Certified Accountant with CA / ICWA / CIMA / CMA or CPA
2. Prior experience in Retail or Marketplace or Financial Retail Services is a plus
3. Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills
4. Zeal towards Operational Excellence/Process improvement & simplifications
5. Excellent knowledge of financial controls and procedures; US GAAP knowledge would be a plus
6. Knowledge of Advanced Excel is a must
7. Experience with Oracle/SAP
8. Flexible, adaptable, well organized
9. Knowledge of Six Sigma defect reduction techniques (Lean, etc.) preferred
10. Proactive behavior
11. Strong team skills
12. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and highly energetic
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL, and VBA skills
2. Experience using data to influence business decisions
3. Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting, and reporting
4. CA with up to 0-4 years of post-qualification experience in month-end closing of books of accounts / working on various sub-ledgers / accounting knowledge / balance sheet reconciliation & reporting activities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse, and SQL
