Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Purchase / Sales Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our purchase ledger, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner, issuing statements for the Sales ledger and effective credit control. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent attention to detail.
Duties
1. Maintain and update the purchase / sales ledger, ensuring all invoices are accurately recorded.
2. Process supplier invoices and assist Accounts Manager with remits to ensure timely payments are made.
3. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
4. Liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries and invoice discrepancies.
5. Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Skills
1. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
2. Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks preferred and Microsoft Excel.
3. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
4. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
5. Previous experience in a purchase / sales ledger or accounts role.
6. A basic understanding of accounting principles is beneficial.
