Job Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated Yard Operative to join our dynamic team. The primary role is to ensure that all instructions received from the Service Manager are executed in a timely and effective manner, contributing to the smooth operation of our yard and workshop.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the Yard and Workshop at all times.
2. Assist engineering staff and the Service Manager with fleet and ancillary preparations as needed.
3. Assemble, repair, and test extension cables.
4. Conduct thorough off-hire inspections of all fleet, noting any damages and completing the necessary paperwork in full.
5. Load and unload fleet and materials using a fork lift truck (FLT) when required.
6. Help maintain depot stock levels, minimising waste or loss.
7. Demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage your own time and productivity, ensuring deadlines are met.
8. Assist with maintenance or installations on-site as required.
9. Attend training sessions as necessary to perform duties effectively.
10. Work in accordance with company-approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
11. Work additional hours (overtime) as reasonably required by the business.
12. Adhere to current Health & Safety Legislation.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
2. Fork Lift Truck (FLT) certification is advantageous.
3. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Willingness to learn and undergo training.
