Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Lead Consultant Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Consultant with a strong background in accountancy, finance, and trade & logistics, in a construction environment to drive the successful implementation, enhancement, and ongoing management of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This role is critical in ensuring that our financial processes and systems are optimised to support business operations efficiently. Key Responsibilities Lead the functional management of the Finance modules within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring alignment with business needs. Define and execute a vision, strategy, and roadmap for financial systems in collaboration with Finance, Trade & Logistics, and IT teams. Financial Process Optimisation Work closely with finance and accounting teams to enhance financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable/receivable, and cost control through system improvements. Identify and drive process efficiencies in trade, procurement, invoicing, and financial compliance. Ensure seamless integration between finance, supply chain, and logistics functions. Implementation & Integration Oversee the successful implementation, configuration, and integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring accurate financial data flow. Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to align system functionalities with accounting standards, tax compliance, and audit requirements. Support & Continuous Improvement Act as a Lead Consultant, providing functional support and resolving complex issues related to financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. Drive continuous improvement by identifying enhancements to financial workflows and system capabilities. Training & Documentation Develop and deliver tailored training for finance teams, ensuring optimal use of system functionalities. Create and maintain clear financial system documentation and best practices to support compliance and efficiency. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management Work closely with Finance Directors, Controllers, Procurement, Supply Chain, and IT teams to ensure smooth financial operations. Liaise with external partners, auditors, and consultants to ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices. Key Requirements Strong finance and accounting background (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification preferred). In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and experience in a finance-focused role. Experience in trade, procurement, and logistics finance within an ERP environment. Proven ability to optimise financial processes, enhance reporting, and ensure compliance. Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between finance, IT, and operational teams. Experience in leading system implementations, integrations, and process improvements. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows who also has experience working with ERP systems in a functional capacity .
