Job Purpose
The Scottish Prison Service is recruiting Residential Officers throughout 2024/25 for HMP Grampian in Peterhead, Scotland. Future recruitment for other areas will be announced on the SPS Careers website.

The SPS, established in 1993, is an agency of the Scottish Government dedicated to making Scotland safer by protecting the public and reducing reoffending. It ensures secure custody, safe and orderly prisons, high standards of care, and opportunities for reintegration into the community.
Prison Officers play a key role in delivering SPS's vision of Unlocking Potential and Transforming Lives. They are the primary contact for those in custody, ensuring safety, security, and personal development. Newly appointed Residential Officers will undergo training as part of a professional development pathway, requiring ongoing commitment. The role involves working in the residential area, with physical demands such as walking and standing, and emotional demands from interactions with individuals and their families.
